So let’s start with the basics. D.A.R.Y.L. was released in June of 1985. The movie follows a seemingly ordinary 10-year-old boy named Daryl who’s found wandering alone with no memory of who he is. He’s placed in foster care with a loving family, and he quickly begins to impress everyone around him—he's polite, obedient, insanely good at video games, and can hit a home run every time he’s up at bat.
But of course, there’s a twist: Daryl isn’t your typical kid. He’s actually an experimental government project—an android with artificial intelligence, designed by the military. And when the truth starts to unravel, Daryl’s creators want him shut down. What follows is part sci-fi escape thriller, part emotional family drama, and a whole lot of 80s charm."
